Celebration of Life for Carolyn Elaine Boyd-Speights
Sunrise 10-05-1964 ~ Sunset 02-01-2025
Carolyn was born October 5th, 1964, in St. Petersburg, Florida to Sidney and Katie Boyd. God blessed their union with two children (Carolyn Elaine and Sidney Marquise). The joining of this union welcomed the addition of six children into a blended family.
As the adored little girl her nickname became "pumpkin." The name of Carolyn was given by her father because of the close sisterly relationship he had with his sister who was named Carolyn. Most of the family and friends called "Carolyn" by her middle name (Elaine).
Elaine began her early education by attending St. Joseph Catholic school until she reached the 9th grade. Her high school education was a highlight for her. She graduated from Lakewood High School in Pinellas County.
At an early age she was taught to always keep God first in her life. She made the decision to join the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where her father and mother worshiped, as this became the place of fellowship to express her love for Christ.
Waiting some years after graduating from high school she became interested in pursuing work within the Mortuary profession. During this time, she met Bobby Creal, and they were married and shared a life together. She worked with Creal Mortuary and Cremation for several years. This journey of marriage ended but they remained friends until his passing.
Desiring to continue to work in the funeral industry she began working with Young's Funeral Home and Cremation. She actively engaged with families as a receptionist as well as a funeral attendant when needed.
As she looked to the future, Elaine later was joined in marriage to her husband Farrell Speights December of 2002. Elaine enjoyed life to the fullest. Some of her favorite pastime involved shopping, music, dancing and getting sharply dressed for special events. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren as well as family and friends.
Elaine was the caring and loving mother of three daughters, (Anastasia, Jasmine and Chanricka)
Beginning in September of 2024, Elaine began to experience some health challenges. During this time, her children gave their support as well as very close family friends. She spent a significant period with Clinen Allen known as (Uncle Peanut) and family with whom she lived with until she was hospitalized due to the medical care she required.
On February 1st, 2025, God received His daughter into his eternal presence.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Katie M. Boyd, daughter, Anastasia Boyd and one granddaughter, Erika Flowers.
