Corine Mouzon-Walker, a beloved matriarch whose warmth and generosity touched countless lives, was promoted to glory on November 6, 2025, while resting peacefully at her home surrounded by love ones. She was 90 years old.
Born on June 9, 1935, in South Carolina to Toby and Lula Brown, Corine's journey led her to Clearwater, Florida, in 1960, where she and her then-husband Louis Mouzon relocated with their children as Louis pursued his trucking career.
It was in Clearwater that Corine would build a life marked by unwavering faith, deep family bonds, and a spirit of hospitality that became her hallmark. She later found love again and married Dave Walker, with whom she shared many cherished years.
A devoted member of St. Matthews First Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as an usher for decades. Corine's faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her benevolence extended beyond the church walls and into every aspect of her daily living, especially in her dedication to family. She was delighted in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate in sports, cheering them on from the sidelines. Even when her health no longer permitted her to attend games in person, she eagerly awaited visits where she could hear every detail, celebrating each triumph as if she had been there herself.
Corine's kitchen was a place of magic and love, where she prepared meals not only for her large family but for any friend or neighbor who crossed her threshold. No one ever left her home hungry. Her generosity was as abundant as her cooking. Before retiring, Corine was employed by Highland Pines Nursing Home, where her compassionate nature shone brightly. It was there she forged lifelong friendships, including bonds with Rose Wilder and Mary Jay Johnson that endured for more than five decades, a testament to her capacity for deep and lasting connections.
A woman of grace, strength, and boundless love, Corine Mouzon-Walker was the heart of her family—a matriarch and leader who could not have been more treasured. Her memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dave Walker, and her children Auddie, Barbara, Dorothy, Helen, Bruce and Gloria.
