Dr. Warren Hardy Scott, Sr. was born on October 17, 1951, in Clearwater, Florida to Joseph and Mary Scott.

During his tenure there, he was president of the Student Black House, participated in the 1969 Sit-In at T-Hall and was the first black trainer, primarily for the basketball team, for the Athletic Department. Warren was a graduate of the University of South Florida in 1996 and a graduate of Meharry Medical College in 2001. He completed his Residency in Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University from 2001 to 2005.
Warren was employed as a Firefighter and Paramedic with the Clearwater Fire Department, retiring as a Fire Lieutenant. His career also included being employed as a Psychiatrist with the State of Alabama, the Department of Corrections in Hamilton, Alabama, Riverbend Center Mental Health Center in Florence, Alabama, Medical Director at Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville, Alabama and Lakeview Center Mental Health Services.
Warren came from humbled beginnings and rose to build a life filled with achievements, service and honor. He earned awards, built a meaningful career and lived out his potential with determination. Yet, he never forgot where he came from. He cherished his classmates from Pinellas High School, Class of 1969 and the community that shaped him. He loved helping to plan reunions and returned home every year to celebrate life with the people who knew him first.
Warren had a love for fishing, crabbing and making crab boils. He was a huge Buccaneer and Gator fan. Some of his favorite pastimes were watching Jeopardy, M.A.S.H., listening to music and going to concerts, playing basketball, chess, checkers, spades and working on his Cadillac.
