I knew Chandra Paul extremely well as I too grew up in Liliendaal. I also attended Graham's Hall Primary School where Chandra Paul was my Physical Education teacher. He was an extremely gifted distance runner before he became a teacher. I lost touch with him but he and my brother Wilton Grannum who also taught at Graham's Hall remained good friends over the years. I extend my condolences to his wife, children and other relatives. I will remember him as a light that illuminated the darkness. RIP. Victorine Grannum-Solomon.
Over the years, my sister and I heard stories of Mr. Chandra Paul told by his ex wife Margarita and oldest daughter Prudence. Though we don't know him. I was taught by sir Chandra Paul at Graham's Hall school. What I can vividly remember about him he was a disciplinarian. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.
I have known Mr. Chandra Paul for over 20 years. We worked together at Cummings Lodge Secondary school where he rose to the highest position as headmaster/Principal of one of the top high schools in Guyana. Chandra was a top Sports master and sports organizer in Guyana. He promoted track and field everywhere he went and was responsible for the growth and development of numerous athletes in Guyana. He was also a renowned cricketer and promoted various cricket matches at Cummings Lodge Secondary school as well as in the community. Chandra Paul was well respected by everyone in the community and indeed all over Guyana and the Caribbean. He will be sadly missed by all of us. We pray that the Good Lord will bless his family with all of the comfort and strength that they need during this difficult period on the passing of a true family man and friend. Our deepest condolences and heart felt sympathy to his wife, children and grandchildren and all of the other relatives and friends of Chandra Paul. May his soul RIP ๐
