Sister Ethel Mae Brooks was born on April 9, 1935, in Brundidge, Alabama to the late Virdel Lucas and Bertha Harris.
At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and became a faithful member of Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church, Clearwater, Florida. She served God’s church for over 50 years and was a dedicated doorkeeper of the Lord as an usher. Sister Brooks loved God, His church and His children.
Sister Ethel Mae Brooks departed this life on November 14, 2022. She is predeceased by her husband, Jerry L. Brooks, parents, Virdel Lucas and Bertha Harris, siblings, Robert Lucas, John Lucas, Peggy Lucas, Mary Foster, Mary Davis, Diane Washington, Willie and Lawrence and granddaughter, Ruth Brooks.
She leaves cherished memories to…her only son, Alphonso Brooks (Lula) of Clearwater, FL; daughter, Linda Brooks of Clearwater, FL; three sisters, Margaret Griffin, Janimae Sales and Wylene White; three brothers, Virdel Lucas, III, Grady C. and Earnest Lucas (Linda); three grandchildren, Brandi Burnette, Alkelcey Brooks and Darryl Walls; six great grandchildren, JaˊNiah Burnette, NyˊEisha Dixon, Raneisha Turner, Precious Patterson, Quenisha Scott and Darryl Walls, Jr.
