Hazel joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Clearwater, Florida, where she met the love of her life, Ronnie Lane. On September 1, 1989, Hazel and Ron were married at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Hazel and Ron made a great team because they were both humbled in nature.

Someone asked Hazel why she does what she does, and she replied, “Because it makes me happy, I love to progress others, and I can leave an impact on other people which does not cost anything.”
