It is with profound sadness and gentle reverence that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Molly Thompson George, who was called home on March 1, 2026, at the age of 92. Molly departed this life peacefully, surrounded by the comfort of her family and the warmth of her cherished home. She was born on July 11, 1933, in the vibrant city of Bland, FL.
Molly was the cherished daughter of Cornell Thompson, Sr. and Carrie Bell Thompson. She was deeply rooted in her family and was preceded in death by her loving parents; her grandparents, Isaac Banks and Everlena Randell; her sister, Hazel Thompson; her brothers, Cornell Thompson and Henry Thompson and her son-in-law, Darryl L. Bell.
Molly’s journey through life was marked by a rich tapestry of love, learning and laughter. She was a proud graduate of Gibbs High School, Class of 1951, and continued her education at Florida A&M University, where she pursued her passion for knowledge for two years. Her professional life was devoted to General Electric, where she faithfully served for 28 years, demonstrating diligence, dedication and commitment.
During her 41 years of marriage to the late Otis George, Jr., Molly found a true partner in both life and love. Together they built a nurturing home filled with laughter and joy while raising their children: Kelvin, Keith, Alan, Beverly, Cheryl, Donna, Twarnette and Janet.
Her spirit was deeply rooted in her faith. Molly was a devoted and active member of Moore’s Chapel AME Church for more than 90 years, a church family she cherished dearly. Known for her sweet yet sassy personality, Molly could light up any room she entered. She has a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, whether through providing food, clothing or shoes.
Molly’s legacy stands as a beautiful testament to a life well-lived-one filled with love, laughter, faith and unwavering generosity. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
