Obituary For Patricia Watts Mickens

Patricia (Pat) Delois Watts Mickens was born on May 5, 1958, in Los Angeles, California to the late Allen Watts, Sr. and the late Doris (Pleasant) Watts Turley. At an early age, Pat accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and attended her family church in the Bronx, New York.

Pat was educated in the New Jersey school system and graduated from Henry Snyder High School in 1976. She received an Associate Degree in Business from the City University of New York. Pat completed a career working for the New York City Department of Sanitation as an Administrative Secretary, retiring after 28 years of faithful service.

Pat found love with Maurice Mickens, a long-time friend. Maurice and Pat were married on September 14, 2013, and started a new life together in the state of Florida.

Pat joined the fellowship of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, where she served faithfully and was consecrated as a Deaconess. She was a true believer in our Savior Jesus Christ and was a soldier in the army of the Lord. Known for her caring and compassionate spirit, Pat sacrificed herself to help and care for others. She donated her time to Women’s shelters, serving and feeding the homeless, as well as, working with various organizations, including the MLK Jr. Neighborhood Center Coalition.

Her passions included arts and crafts, needlepoint work, sewing, crocheting, and eating at her favorite restaurant P. F. Chang’s with friends.

She was dedicated to maintaining family relationships and always “kept us in the loop” with news and family events. She was the glue that held us together and Pat will truly be missed.

On December 9, 2022, Pat answered her call to Glory. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Maurice Mickens.

She leaves to mourn…
