Obituary For Rev. Hayes Bell, Jr.

Reverend Hayes Bell, Jr. was born on March 23, 1960, in Donalsonville, Georgia to Essie Lee Jennings-Bell and Hayes Bell, Sr.

Reverend Bell, Jr. attended the public schools of Pinellas County, where he was a graduate of Largo High School, Class of 1979. He continued his learning at St. Petersburg Junior College, where he received an Associate of Arts Degree in 1984 and graduated in 1997 from the Florida Theological Seminary and Bible College. Reverend Bell, Jr. was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Dunedin, Florida, where he served faithfully as Sunday School Director and Transportation Committee Leader. He also served for many years as the Youth Instructor of Congress Number Four, an Auxiliary to the First South Florida District Association, Reverend Dr. Rayford Harper, Moderator. Reverend Bell, Jr. served under the Congressional leadership of Presidents Leroy Campbell and Clem Bell and was recently reelected to serve under the current Congress leadership of Dr. Julius L. Wynn, Sr., until his health recently began to fail. He was employed with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office from 1981 to 2014, retiring on May 29, 2014, after 33 years of service. He had a passion for gardening, traveling, his family, fishing, listening to Gospel music, old school music, making people laugh and blogging.

Reverend Hayes Bells, Jr. departed this life on May 12, 2021, Clearwater, Florida.

He leaves cherished memories to: Son: Hayes Bell, III of Seminole, FL Daughter: Rosalyn Bell of Orlando, FL Brothers: Edward Bell of Largo, FL, Reverend Clem Bell of Dunedin, FL and Alex Baker of Tampa, FL Sisters: Evelyn Bell-Thompson of St. Petersburg, FL, Edna Minor of Largo, FL, Emma Lois Barkley of St. Petersburg, FL, Vera Mae Bell of Huntsville, GA and Glenda Baker of Marianna, FL Godchildren: Alexis McCaffee of Tallahassee, FL, Destiny Evans, Desiree Evans, Jovein Evans and India Wright, all of Clearwater, FL A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends.

Public Viewing will be Friday, May 21, 2021 (6PM - 8PM), & Celebration of Life will be Saturday, May 22, 2021 (11:30 AM) both at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 1165 North Douglas Avenue Dunedin, Florida 34698.
