Ruby Jean Boykins Ennis was born on April 16, 1935, in Clio, Alabama to Robert and Bessie Boykins.
Ruby's parents wanted their children to obtain an education, so they moved to Dothan, Alabama, where Ruby and her siblings attended school. Ruby was a graduate of Carver High School in Dothan, Alabama. Ruby later moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where she resided until moving to Largo, Florida.
She was employed with the Pinellas County School System at Ridgecrest Elementary and later with the Pinellas County Health Department, retiring after 35 years of service. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church where she served with the Choir, #2 Usher Board and Hospitality Ministry.
Ruby had a love for baking cakes, working in her flower beds and spoiling her grandchildren.
Ruby Jean Boykins Ennis transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal home on Sunday, July 13, 2025, Clearwater, Florida.
She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Bessie Boykins; son, Ricky Ennis, daughter, Janet “DeeDee” Ennis Robinson; and siblings, R.C. Boykins, Lois Pride, Andrew Boykins, Johnie Boykins, Sarah Lee, Willie Mae Owens, Benjamin Boykins, Jaime Boykins and Beatrice Boykins.
