Ruffers John Brown was born on August 3, 1948, in Safety Harbor, Florida to John Brown, Sr. and Rhodann Brown.
Ruffers attended Pinellas High School, receiving his diploma while serving in the military. His military career included serving in the United States Marines from August 17, 1967 to February 17, 1972 and the United States Navy from June 1973, until his retirement on June 30, 1993. Ruffers was an Advance Steel Worker and received the Expert Marksman, Combat Action Ribbon, Meritorious Award, Vietnam Service Medal, Presidential Citation and many other offices and awards during his military career. Ruffers was a member of New Season Apostolic Ministries and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Ruffers John Brown departed this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Bay Pines Medical Center, St. Petersburg, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Brown, Sr. and Rhodann Brown, brothers, Hosie Neal, Theodore Neal, Johnnie Neal, Wayne Neal and Knockman Neal and sisters, Georgia Clark, Odella Bailey, Effie Neal, Coneans Neal, Goretha Cockenham and Sally Pasco.
He leaves to cherish his memories… His wife of 13 ½ years: Katecia Brown; Sons: Rufus Brown and Dadrian Brown (Angela); Daughters: Jennifer Dodson (Marvin), Catherine Williams (Michael), Johnetta Franklin (Kelvin) and Yasmin Pitts; Brother: Magglee Neal; Sisters: Riley Hill, Ester Morris and Mary Glenn; Grandchildren: Kayla, Kelvin and Keljon Franklin, Devonn, Anthony and Jailyn Riley, Latoya Brown-White, Leon, Sr., Tradarius and Leondra Jackson, James and Faith Rocker; Seven great-grandchildren; And a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and several special friends.
