Missionary Ruth Mae Dukes was born on March 7, 1950, in Pahokee, Florida to Bishop James E. Byrd and Mother Isabelle Byrd.
Missionary Dukes was a graduate of Lake Shore High School, Class of 1968, in Belle Glade, Florida.
She was employed with the Pinellas County Schools as a bus driver, retiring in 2012.
Missionary Dukes was a member of The Christ Church of Universal Love, where she served as a Missionary, Teacher, Choir Director, and Church Secretary. She was the President of Women of Destiny and was a Marriage and Family Counselor. Missionary Dukes was an example and teacher of finances and encouraged others to walk in financial freedom. She taught workshops, conferences and conventions.
Missionary Ruth Mae Dukes transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal home on June 10, 2024, Largo, Florida.
She is predeceased by her father, Bishop James E. Byrd, mother, Mother Isabelle Byrd, maternal grandparents, Richard and Mary Alice Humphrey, paternal grandparents, Allen and Lula Bell Byrd, grandson, Noah Dukes and granddaughters, Kristina Dukes and Miracle Dukes.

Grandchildren: Timaya Scott, Jacarra Dukes, Mat Gatlluak, Lisa Mun, Aleek Mun, Malachi Peterson, Aaron Dukes, Jr., Celina Mun, Donovan Dukes, Sara Mun, Abraham Dukes, Faith Dukes and Isaiah Dukes
