Stephania Lorraine Maloy Byrd of Ft. Lauderdale, FL (formerly Clearwater, FL) was born on May 14, 1967 in St. Petersburg, Florida and transitioned on Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

“Stephanie” was a soft-spoken, kind-hearted wife, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend. She, along with twin-brother Stephen, were raised by parents Clemmie and Nelson Maloy in Safety Harbor, FL.

After her parents passing, she had a yearning to know her biological family. In 1994, God granted her request! She reconnected with her father, Mr. Armon Neal, Jr. (d. 2000), and uncles, aunts, siblings and cousins.

Stephanie received her education in Pinellas County Schools and in Atlanta, GA where she received her CNA certificate.

She worked at R’ Club for many years and also with teenagers in group homes in Pinellas county. She finished her career as a teacher’s assistant in Pinellas County Schools (Sandy Lane Elementary) when she married her husband, Ezekiel Byrd “Mr. Wonderful”, and moved to Ft. Lauderdale.

Stephanie accepted Christ at an early age. Over the years, she has boldly declared God’s Word while serving as exhorter, singer, emcee and in any capacity needed as she was a woman of many gifts and talents.

She was a member of The Christ Church of Universal Love, Bishop James Byrd, Founder/Senior Pastor in Largo, FL and formerly, at Citadel Of Hope Ministries in Atlanta, GA under the late Pastor Nathaniel L. Simmons.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Her husband, Ezekiel Byrd, “her daughters”, Kristina Byrd, Tarpon Springs and Sabrina Byrd, Clearwater;

Grandchildren: Janelle, Jermaine, Janiyah, and Jaleah; Brothers: Her twin, Stephen Maloy (Sandy), Tampa; Alvin, Richard and Zachary Neal of Miami, Clearwater, and Haines City, FL, respectively. Sisters: Scherrin Hobbs, St. Petersburg; Gwen Maloy, New Port Richey; Annette Neal, Clearwater; Gwendolyn Neal, Jonesboro, GA;

A dear aunt, Mrs. Verna Evans who she lived with for several years, Clearwater. Father-in-law: Bishop James E. Byrd, Clearwater; Sisters-in-law: Rosa Jones, Clearwater; Ruth Dukes (Melvin), Largo; Lillian Williams (Billy), Rebecca Thomas (Harry), Wendy Harvey (Rocky), all of Clearwater; Brothers-in-law: Jim Byrd (Mary), David Byrd (Linda), Willie Byrd of Clearwater; Isaac Byrd, Okeechobee, FL. And a host of relatives, co-workers, and friends.

Viewing from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 22 and CDC guidelines will be followed.

A traditional service will not be held at this time; however, plans will be made to hold a Memorial service and repast at a safer time. Interment will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 5233 118th Ave N, Clearwater, FL 33760.
