My Auntie was such a strong and loving individual. Many thought that she was so tough but it was really a cover up of protection. Those she loved, she loved and carried them with her daily. This lady will be missed and forever loved. I still hear you saying Auntie "Oh Boy, Oh Boy" and " I love u". I love you Auntie Mattie and hopefully my Mom and your spirits are celebrating.

My heartfelt condolences to you Korie and the rest of the family! Ms. Walker was a mother, teacher, confidant to so many of her Westview students. We loved her like family and she will be missed. May God continue to keep and comfort you during this very difficult time!❤️

My heart goes out to Ms. Mattie Walker's family. Ms. Walker was an Icon you could never forget especially if you were apart of the Westview Middle School Family. She never treated you like a student but she made you feel like Family. To me and my family we had the Esteem pleasure of knowing Auntie Mattie outside of Westview, she became Auntie Mattie to some of that lived in the neighborhood where she lived in Opa-Locka. To Tory and Richie she left you all a LEGACY. Praying that God gives you all the strength to endure this pain and loss. Love you all. The Tatum Family

The boys you watched over, the sons you helped raised, not with blood, but with presence,with your fierce and gentle ways. We grew into men with your voice in our heads, your lessons stitched into our days. You stood for respect, for truth, for love and we carry that in every way.
