Walter "Pete" Amos Taylor, Jr. was an awesome athlete who achieved wonderful things at the high school and college levels. I once wrote an article on Pete for the "Waycross Journal-Herald." As I conducted research for the article, I interviewed the legendary Jake Gaither about Pete. Jake Gaither told me that Pete was one of the finest athletes he ever saw at Florida A&M University. Hopefully, Pete will go into the Florida A&M University Hall of Fame if he is not already there. God bless the Taylor family and may the soul of Pete rest in peace!
