71, Entered into eternal rest on December 26, 2020. He was born on July 27, 1949 to the late David L. Campbell, Sr., and Ada Harris Campbell in Portsmouth, Va. He received his early education from the Portsmouth Public School System. He then went on to attend Northwood Institute, Virginia Wesleyan and Tidewater Community College.
Mr Campbell was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church, Portsmouth and began attending Calvary Community Church, Hampton after relocating to Hampton, Va.
Mr Campbell is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and retired after 25 years of service from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a Marine Machinist.
Mr Campbell leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, LaVerne Campbell, his daughters, Tonya Wilbur (Gregory), Yolanda Campbell, his son, Elgin Campbell, his sister, Brenda Williams (Rosure), his brother, Lafayette Campbell, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 11:00 am. Viewing will began at 9 am in Steele-Bullock Funeral Home Chapel prior to the service. The interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veteran Cemetery.
