Charles Devon Pendleton was born on Sunday, August 5, 1973 at 7:53 A.M. to the late Charlie Pendleton, Sr. and Evelyn Pendleton at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA.
He was raised in the belief of Jehovah Witness under the love and guidance of his mother, Evelyn Pendleton. As an adult, he was a spiritual man that kept his own council and had faith in Almighty God.
Charles graduated from Lowndes High School in 1992. He went on to serve in the Navy and Navy Reserves. Charles attended college in California where he majored in communications. When Charles moved back to Valdosta, he studied business marketing and became the sole owner and operator of “EZ Change Lawn Care Service.” To provide for his family, Charles also worked several industrial jobs and became a Lead Supervisor for Letica/Berry Corporation.
In December 2001, Charles met his wife Shawanda. They were married July 7, 2011. Together they created a family that he cherished and was most proud of.
For forty-seven years, Charles woke up and rose like the sun. Everyday, he strived to become a better man than he was the day before. Wherever he went, he left an impact of joy and laughter. He never met a stranger and he never left an enemy. He loved his family and friends with his whole entire heart and when the time came for him to say Good-bye, he fought to the bitter end to stay. He didn’t want to leave us because he knew the pain and suffering his death would cause. However, as much as Charles loved us, God loved him more.
Every sun that rises must set and on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 1:57 A.M., Charles Devon Pendleton passed away at South Georgia Medical Center due to complications from COVID-19 and a pre-existing heart condition.

I've known Charles since high school. He was the type of guy who pretty much keep to himself. It doesn't matter whether I see him at the store or restaurant we will say hello to each other and chat a little bit about what goes on in our lives. I was saddened to hear of his passing due to complications from the coronavirus. To me it is reason enough to get myself vaccinated when available. He will be greatly missed. Until we meet again Rest in Peace my friend. Douglas
