Geneva Johnson was born on May 21, 1931 in Brooks County, Georgia to the late Ennis and Margaret Sneed Wilson.
Geneva attended the public school system and after graduation, she obtained some college. At an early age, Geneva accepted Christ. She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church where she served faithfully as a Missionary and Stewardess until her health began to fail. Geneva worked various jobs including a CNA at Crestwood Nursing Home and assisted at Stevens Funeral Home.
Geneva was married to the late Kirk Johnson, Sr. and to this union one child was born, the late Kirk Romon Johnson, Jr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ennis and Margaret Wilson; husband, Kirk Johnson, Sr.; son, Kirk Romon Johnson, Jr.; grandmother, Janie Sneed; grandson, Kirk Romon Johnson, III; one brother, Earl Robinson, Jr.
Geneva leaves to cherish her memories two grandchildren, Kevin Johnson, Sr. and Kimberly Bentley; seven great grandchildren, Kevin Johnson, Jr., Shamiria Johnson Cooper, Janiya Johnson, Ziana Johnson, Kyla Bentley, Kameron Bentley (Naudia) and Koi Edwards (Aaron); four great great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Johnson; one niece, Janice Robinson; a special and devoted cousin, Evelyn Littles of Green Cove Springs, FL; a loving and devoted godson, Richard G. Joyner; also a host of other relatives and friends.
The celebration of life service will be held Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Sunset Hill Cemetery, 1100 North Oak Street, Valdosta, GA 31601. Rev. Dale Flucas, officiating.
Public viewing will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The service will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook/YouTube Page - Stevens Funeral Home (Valdosta, GA).
