Katherine “Bug” Holton was born on December 14, 1937 to Homer and Daisy Holton in Sycamore, Georgia. She was the third of eight children. She received her early education in Turner County Public School System. She moved to Florida in 1953 with her family and began to build her own family. She worked in the family nursery and was also a housekeeper in her earlier years. She was the mother of eight children. She was married to Thomas Williams who proceeded her in death.
After the loss of her sister Julia, she relocated back to Georgia in 2015, where she resided with her brother, David and sister-in-law, Rose.
Bug loved her family. She enjoyed gathering with those she loved and creating new memories. She overcame a lot of hardships in her earlier life, but she did not let it affect her heart. She loved her family deeply and did her best to show that every chance she could. Until the end of her life, she was always found smiling, laughing, plating her hair, cleaning up, making others laugh, talking about the good old days, dancing to purple rain, and remembering those she loved and lost which would often make her cry. Her favorite gospel song was “One Day at a Time.” The lyrics reflected her life, “One day at a time, sweet Jesus, that’s all I am asking of you, just give me the strength to do everyday what I have to do.”
On February 7, 2025 at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton, GA, Katherine took her final breath and went to be with the Lord.
