Mrs. Lucinda Brown, a revered individual who passed away at the age of 100 on Saturday, July 26, 2025, was born on April 9, 1925, in Greenville, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Fleming, Sr., and Mrs. Josephine Thomas Fleming.
During her youth, Mrs. Brown relocated to Valdosta, Georgia, where she attended Dasher High School. In her later years, she dedicated over four decades of her life to the Holiday Inn, while simultaneously providing care for Mrs. Betty Coggins for approximately 15 years until her passing.
Throughout her life, Mrs. Brown remained a steadfast member of the Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ, despite her declining health. Her unwavering commitment to her faith was evident in her unshakable belief in the teachings of Christ.
Mrs. Brown possessed a diverse range of interests, including cooking, fishing, tending to her chickens and cats, and gardening. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones for her contributions to these activities.
On the day of her passing, God, the benevolent creator, observed the emptiness in His garden and descended upon Earth to find Mrs. Brownβs radiant face. He embraced her and gently lifted her to eternal rest, where she will be reunited with her beloved husband, Eugene Brown, Sr., her parents, Samuel Fleming, Sr. and Josephine Thomas Fleming, her four children, Archie Williams, William Brown, Joseph Williams, and Roland Brown, her three siblings, Katherine Fuller, Nathaniel Fleming and George Fleming.
Lucinda leaves her legacy of faith and love to her children, Curtis Williams, Eugene Brown, Jr. (Arlene) both of Valdosta, GA, Daisy Richards (Herman) of San Antonio, TX and Eugenia Blankumsee of Valdosta, GA; her brother, Samuel Fleming of St. Petersburg, FL; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Celesta Williams and Mrs. Deborah Brown both of Valdosta, GA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and members of her Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ congregation.
