Moses “Lollipod” Rogers, Sr., the eighth of nine children, was born on July 16, 1961 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Emanuel Rogers, Jr. and Margaret S. Rogers.
Moses was a proud graduate of Martin County High School in Stuart, Florida. He received Christ at an early age and became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Stuart, Florida under the leadership of Rev. L.W. Williams. Moses later relocated to Valdosta, Georgia to be with his loving family.
Moses worked many different jobs including construction and was employed as a sanitation worker for Waste Management until he became disabled.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel Rogers, Jr. and Margaret S. Rogers; one daughter, Yashica T. Rogers; four brothers, Charles W. Mosley, Jr., Emanuel Rogers, III, Nathaniel Rogers, Sr. and Willie L. Rogers; two sisters, Margaret A. Raysor and Renora Mosley; one brother-in-law, Johnny L. Durham, Sr.; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Rogers.
Moses transitioned to his earthly home on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Holmes Regional Hospital in Melbourne, Florida.
Moses leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Moses Rogers, Jr. and daughter-in-love, Trevira Reece both of Palm Bay, FL; one sister, Mattie R. Durham of Ray City, GA; two brothers, Wallace Rogers and James (Ivory) Rogers both of Valdosta, GA; three grandchildren, Moses Rogers, III, Xeh’dyn Rogers and Aazariyah Rogers all of Palm Bay, FL; two step grandchildren, D’Angelo Andrews and Aaniyah Duren both of Palm Bay, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pallbearers Cemetery, 2660 Riverside Road, Valdosta, GA 31601. Minister James Bryant, officiating.
Public viewing will be held Friday, January 29, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
