Mrs. Willie B. Donaldson Curry was born November 4, 1943 in Valdosta, GA to the late Mr. Jack Donaldson, Sr. and Mrs. Emma Eady Donaldson.
She received Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church. After graduation, she worked various jobs and retired from Valdosta State University as a custodian. She was married to the late Mr. Samuel Lee Curry, Sr.
She was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt who was dedicated to her family. She had a very close bond with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Curry loved cooking for her family and always enjoyed fishing. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
On Sunday, June 13, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center, Mrs. Willie B. Donaldson Curry was called from labor to reward.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Lee Curry, Sr.; father, Jack Donaldson, Sr.; mother, Emma Eady Donaldson; one son, Samuel Lee Curry, Jr.; three sisters, Ella Mae Thomas, Emma Lee Roundtree and Sarah Foster; five brothers, Jack Donaldson, Jr., Lloyd Donaldson, Walter Donaldson, Willie West Donaldson and David Leon Donaldson.
Mrs. Curry leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Robert Lee Curry, Sr. (Chenoa) of Valdosta, GA and Walter Donaldson (Connie) of Hayes, VA; two daughters, Sandra Oliver (Kenneth, Sr.) of Atlanta, GA and Deborah Williams (Cornelious) of Valdosta, GA; two sisters, Carolyn Rowe (James) of Hahira, GA and Gracie Childs of Anchorage, Alaska; fourteen grandchildren, Ulrica Ellis (James, deceased) of Valdosta, GA, Kimberly Roberson (Cliff) of Atlanta, GA, Kenneth Oliver, Jr. of Thailand, Erica Stinson (Jeff) of Thomaston, GA, Darryl Curry (Shanice) of Lakeland, GA, Brianna Williams (Robert), Amber Williams (Keyon), Robert Lee Curry, II (Kia) and Todd Williams, Jr. all of Valdosta, GA, Samuel Lee Curry of Texas, Octavius Williams, Tiarha Curry, Solomon Curry and Kayden Curry all of Valdosta, GA; twenty great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Curry of Thomaston, GA; a special friend, Joseph Duncan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Union Cathedral Church, 1050 E. Hill Ave., Valdosta, GA 31601. Bishop Wade S. McCrae, pastor, Pastor Vernell Henry, officiating. Burial will follow in the Joe Howell Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
