Uma Ree Bradley Knight was born on April 23, 1938 to the late Mr. Gus Bradley, Sr. and the late Mrs. Daisy Patterson Bradley.
Uma accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was an active member of Payton A.M.E. Church for at least 50 years. She served as an Usher and then took piano lessons and started playing for the Church Choir. Uma worked at Levi Strauss where she later retired.
On Wednesday, December 13, 2023, Uma Ree Bradley Knight passed away peacefully at her residence.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mike and Alice Bradley and Joe and Eula Patterson; two sons, Eli Davis, Jr. and Tony Raynard Davis; one daughter, Lovelace Cheree Carter; one sister, Annie Ruth Bradley; three brothers, Tommy Bradley, Gus Bradley, Jr. and John Lewis Bradley; one nephew, Earl Smith; one niece, Rhonda Bradley.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her two loving daughters, Theresa Davis Darden and Tammy Davis Brice; nine grandchildren, a special granddaughter that she raised, Jasmine; Demetress, Danta, Anthony, Damon, Dashawn, Kimberly, Crystal and Shamika; thirteen great grandchildren; two loving sisters, Beatrice Bradley Wright (Best Friend) and Mary Nell Bradley Aikens (Willie, Sr.); one loving brother, Joe Edward Bradley; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The celebration of life service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. at the Payton A.M.E. Church, 6652 Jumping Gully Rd., Valdosta, GA 31601. Burial will follow at the Payton A.M.E. Church Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 from 12:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
