Obituary For Alberta Brown

Alberta Louise Brown, the beloved daughter of the late Arthur James Brown, Sr. and Ethel Bell Brown, was born on June 28,1957. She was affectionately known as “Bert” or “Berk” by most of her family and friends. She was lovingly reared by her Aunt and Uncle Ida and John Parker in Quitman Georgia. Alberta received her formal education through the Brooks County School system where she graduated in 1975.

At an early age, Bert accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a dedicated member of Bethel AME Church until her health declined. Through her Christian journey, she was known for her beautiful voice and love of singing for the Lord. With friends and family, she made a joyful noise to the Lord as a part of The Archiettes, The Soulettes, The Brown Family Singers and was a founding member of The Wings of Faith.

Those who will miss her until they meet again are her two heartbeats, who were her world, her sons Derrick Brown (Tabitha) and Frederick Brown (Shakeyla); her angels on earth, her granddaughters Asharia, Ameria, Aaliyah, Alexis and her only grandson Breeland.

Born into a large loving village, she leaves behind to cherish her memory, MuDear - Mrs.Bernadine Brown; brothers James Fred (Marie) Brown, Kenneth (Evelyn) Stevens, Reverend Edward (Bobbie) Brown, Ernest (Judy) Brown, John Brown and Dexter Brown; sisters Lula Mae Williams, Lillie Lockett, Beverly Hall and Shonda Brown; special cousin Fred Miller along with many other sorrowing relatives, comforting friends, and helpful medical staffers at JMR Homecare Albany, GA (Brenda Brooks and Tara and Archbold Living Nursing Home Pelham, GA (TaShaughnessy).

Family members who preceded her in death were her parents: Arthur James Brown, Sr. and Ethel Bell Brown, John Parker and Ida Parker, brothers Arthur James Brown, Jr., Nathaniel Brown and her sisters Ida Brown, Willie Jean Jackson and Linda Reed.
