The Obituary
Mr. Andrew Lewis Virgil was born on February 24, 1958 in Miami, Florida to Emma Mae Virgil and the late Andrew Virgil, Jr. He was preceded in death by his siblings Pearlie Mae Virgil, Samuel Lee Virgil and James David Virgil.
He attended the Brooks County School system. He was known to some as Lewis and to many as Dr. Lewis. He was a hard worker and willing to help anyone. He never met a stranger and was the family “clown”. He was always the life of the party and kept everyone laughing and enjoying life. His favorite gospel song was “I’m Just a Nobody”. His favorite saying was “Who Let The Dogs Out”. He loved to dance, no matter where he was.
On Sunday, May 16, 2021, God Almighty summoned Andrew “Dr. Lewis’ Virgil home for his eternal rest.
He leaves to mourn his precious memories his sons: Andrew Lewis Virgil, IV (Tanya), Lawrence Virgil (Jade), Zachariah Virgil (Sandricka); mother Emma Mae Virgil; brother Carswell Virgil; sisters Fannie Richardson (Melvin), Arlene Virgil and Annie (Lloyd); grandchildren Deangelo, Tony, Kanarra, Kristariea, Markai, Zacariyah, Zariyah, Zakiyah, Katie, Zoey and Andrew aunt Vera Lee Thomas (who he adored and served as her tour guide); uncles Willie Ward and Willie James Ward; a special niece Destiny Gill (she always asked him for money so he called her his wife); a Godson Lazarus and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and loving friends.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11AM on the lawn of Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday at the Stevens-McGhee Chapel from 3PM-7PM. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page to view a livestream of the service.
