Obituary For Annette Hill Stewart

Ms. Annette Hill Stewart, a beloved Sister in Christ, gained her wings on December 24, at South Georgia Medical Center, in Valdosta, Georgia. She was born in Quitman, Georgia on August 29, 1947, to the late Paul George Hill and Mae Evelyn Brister Hill. She was the hird oldest of six children. She attended and graduatec from Washington Street High School in 1967. She was employed by Brooks County School System and later was employed by tacha extiles for many years, until she retired. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church where she served in the Senior Choir, the Gospel Choir and served as a faithful member the Women Missionary Society until her health declined her. She was also a member of the Bible Gospel Stars and The Wings of Faith. Annette belonged to a couple organizations, in which she was a faithful member until her health declined: She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Love Joy Chapter #246 of Quitman Georgia where she served as Martha and then Warden for many years, Annette was also a member of the Zeta Amica of Thomasville, Georgia. Annette Hill Stewart is preceded in death by her parents, Paul George Hill anc Mae Evelyn Brister Hill; three sisters, Evelyn Mae Hill Sims, Gloria Jean Hill and Dorothy Mae Hill Henderson.

Annette leaves a legacy and fond memories to be cherished and remembered by those who loved her dearly; her children, Vanessia Williams (Thad) of Valdosta, Georgia, Jamal Hill (Lisa) of Portsmouth, Virgina, Marie Marable of Thomasville, Georgia, ano Paul Stewart Jr. (Carol) of Valdosta, Georgia; 11 grands, 15 great- grands. Annette also leaves a legacy of love tc ner brother Willie C. Hill of Quitman, Georgia; and her sister, Geneva Hill Johnson (Willie James) of Valdosta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family nembers, the Wings of Faith (Carolyn Williams, Eleano Villiams and Jo Carolyn Brown) the Class of 1967 friends; and two special friends: Sharon Peele and Bobbie Jean Frazier.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11AM at Bethel AME Church with Pastor Renee Gee Theophille, officiating. Burial will follow in North End Cemetery. Visit this website to view a livestream of the celebration.
