Apostle Gary D. Samuel Sr. journey began to the parentage of the late Freddie J Samuel Sr. & Gertrude Samuel. He graduated from Thomas County Central High School in 1979 in Thomasville, GA. He joined the U.S. Army shortly after graduating, serving four years in the Army and eight years in the Army National Guard. Apostle Gary met the love of his life Apostle Rosetta Samuel and they joined together in holy matrimony in 1986. To this union was born two wonderful children, Kendra and Gary, Jr. He was noted as a devoted husband and father not only to his own two children but to three nephews he considered his sons, Joshua, Justin, and Japree.
He and his family lived in Atlanta where Apostle Gary had a career working in the Federal Government. Parallel with his secular career, Apostle Gary delighted in working in the Kingdom of God. His life depicted the life of Christ as a Servant-Leader. His service epitomizes the type of service in Matthew 23:11, where Jesus tells His disciples, that later became apostles impacting their world, “The greatest among you will be your servant.”
Apostle Gary ecclesiastical journey begin in 1996 as lay member at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Ellenwood, GA. He served as Deacon in Training at Life from the Living Word Ministries Church in Ellenwood, GA. He taught various classes throughout his tenure including Adult and Teen Sunday School. His ministry extended beyond the four walls of the church. He led hospitality teams in visiting hospitals and praying for the sick. He helped in feeding the hungry in various outreaches. In 2006, he was ordained as a pastor. In 2010, he served as Chaplain and Spiritual Advisor for Forest Park High School Football Team. He served the community as a Commission Notary Public and Counselor. He and his wife Apostle Rosetta founded and served years at Abundance Life Deliverance Ministry. In 2017 The Lord led them to Empowerment Christian Center where they met their beloved spiritual parents and shepherds, Apostles Johnny & Cynthia Gordon. It was at ECC that Apostle Gary was recognized, ordained, and honored as God’s apostle. He was ordained in the office an apostle in 2018 and in office as teacher in 2019. As a didactic Apostle, he served as a professor of the prestigious Tyrannus Apostolic University and as a beloved Pastoral Apostle to ECC. He served with great joy. He touched the lives of many people with his joy and trademark sense of humor. He is noted by many as an “Apostle of Joy.” Isaiah declared in Chapter 61 verse 10, “My soul will be joyful in my God.”
Apostle Gary will forever be remembered and cherished by his devoted best friend and wife of 35 years, Apostle Rosetta Samuel. His children; Kendra Samuel, Gary Samuel Jr., and Justin Roy of Atlanta, GA. Joshua Roy, Sr., ofTallahassee, FL. and Japree Miles of Pooler, GA. His brothers; Melvin Sanders (deceased), Freddie Samuel, Jr. (Joanne) of Warner Robins, GA; Willie Samuel (Estella deceased) of Thomasville, GA; and Frank Samuel (Alatrisha) of Texas; Sisters: Jessie Mae Reddick (deceased), Rosetta Mitchell (Lewis deceased), Joanne Samuel and Vivian Samuel all of Thomasville, GA; In-laws; Geneva Hill (deceased), Estell Stewart of Valdosta, GA, William Hill of Quitman, GA, Dennis Hill of Quitman, GA, Alfred Hill (Regina) Valdosta,GA, Clyde Hill Quitman, GA, James Hill (deceased), Mary Miles of Quitman ,GA, Ada Leonard (Deceased) and Janie Hill of Miami, FL. a devoted God- daughter, Breonia Jackson; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends; Empowerment Christian Center Church Family; and Ramah Prophetic Ministries Network of Churches.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 1PM at the Boston Cemetery with Apostle J. Lee Gordon, eulogist. Continue to keep this family in your daily thoughts and prayers.
Rest well Gary, rest well!! It was a pleasure working with you at GSA and I always enjoyed our Bible Study lessons whenever we talked!! My sincere condolences to the entire family!!
