Obituary For Arthur Child’s, Jr.

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Mr. Arthur Childs Jr., 62 of Barwick, Georgia. He ended a long battle with cancer on February 14, 2025 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia. He was born on July 7, 1962 to Mary Williams and Arthur Williams of Barwick, Georgia. He attended Brooks County Schools in Quitman, Georgia and later moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he met his loving wife the late Tracy Williams. He had many skills but construction was the most favorable. Arthur was known for his strong will, unwavering determination and a love and support for his family and friends.

He is preceded in joining the Lord by his one daughter, Stacy Crawford, his one brother, Shawn Williams, his uncle, A.D. Williams and his devoted friend, Eric Herring.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his two children, Aunica Childs and Aaron Childs both of St. Petersburg, Florida. His sister, Rose Childs (George Lamons) of Quitman, Georgia. Six brothers: Tony Childs (Sharon Childs) of Morven, Georgia; Preston Williams (Anita Williams) of Barney, Georgia; Jerome Williams (Lisa Williams) of Mobile, Alabama; Maurice Williams of St. Petersburg, Florida; Derwin Williams of Morven, Georgia and Decameron Williams of Barwick, Georgia. His six grandchildren: Tasia, Jabari, Aaron Jr, Syncere, Ah’ Marious and Jermiah. His special friends: Dean Francis, Glenn Lamons, Johnny Daniels, Roy, De’ Siree, David Penzabene and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Home going service will be Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2PM at First AB Church in Barwick, GA. Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Church Cemetery in Boston, GA. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page to view a livestream of the celebration.
