The Obituary
Ms. Betty Lou Childs, 86 of Barwick, Georgia entered “Eternal Peace” on Monday, September 13, 2021. She was born to the late Evelina Childs on August 31, 1935, in Brooks County. Ms. Betty Lou attended school in Thomasville, Georgia in her early years. Ms. Betty Lou was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was like a “Rose” that blossoms in the spring; spreading her aroma of “Love,” to everyone she met. Ms. Betty Lou was a member of Barwick Baptist Church until her health challenged her.
She enjoyed cooking during her early years, but most of all she was respected and loved by many as someone, who would feed “a multitude of people.” There was never a stranger she didn’t feed. She had a great passion for enjoying her family and singing gospel songs.
Proceeding her in death were her daughter, Betty Maxine Childs and one brother David Childs.
She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Mary Lee Williams (Arthur), Barwick, GA; four daughters: Lucille Miles (Julius) Quitman, GA; Estella Childs (Sandy), Corrine Childs, and Latoya S. Childs (Bell) all of Barwick, GA; two sons: Johnny J. Childs, Barwick, GA; Roosevelt Robinson (DeLois), Thomasville, GA; fourteen grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
