Mrs. Carrie Smallwood Jenkins was born February 8, 1933 in Brooks County Georgia to the late James Smallwood and the late Emma Reddick Smallwood. She transitioned this life January 7, 2026 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Mrs, Carrie Jenkins attended Rosenwald and Brooks County High School. She joined St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Barney, GA. She served as the Mother of the Church, and taught Sunday School for several years until her health failed.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother.

During her spare time, she enjoyed talking on the telephone with family and friends, cooking delicious meals for family and neighbors. She helped anybody who needed her help never turning anyone away.

Mrs. Carrie Jenkins was married to the late David Jenkins who preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her children: Lita Esther (George Esther), James Jenkins (Eva), Eddie Jenkins (Brenda), eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 3PM at the Stevens-McGhee Chapel with Rev. Daniel Lawton, officiating.
