Cortney, born February 5, 1986 was the daughter of Christy O’neal and Carl and Marie Washington Jr. A call came softly from Heaven above, summoning one so cherished and loved.
Though our hearts were not ready to say goodbye, God whispered her name, Courtney and she answered His cry on June 1, 2026.
Cortney graduated Thomas County Central H.S. in the year 2004, and the Valdosta State University 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisplinary Studies. She was employed with the Thomasville Community Resource Center serving as the Program Manager/Outreach Coordinator.
She loved working with people especially children. Her passion was Early Childhood Education. She did all things well diligently striving to find her true calling. Entrepeunuer minded she ventured into the business of Travel agent, and clothing sales.

Akeem, Augusta, Ga., Carla & Carmiyah of Thomasville, Ga. Aunts: Patricia (Steve) Stephens, Cairo, Ga. Denisha O’Neal, Orlanda, Fl.& Sheila O’Neal, Knoxville, Tenn., Audry (Johnathan) Blackshear, Thomasville, Jeanne (Paul) Robinson, Cairo. Uncles: Anthony & David Washington, Bainbridge, Ga., Wayne West, Meigs, Ga. Sister-in-Laws: Liquella Bush (Clifford), Katrina Samuel, Olivia Patterson, Thomasville, Ga., Ashley Anderson, Brooks Co., Ga., Brothers-in-laws: Jimmy Patterson (Sherika) Thomasville, Ga., Jamie Jackson (Chloe) of Jacksonville, Fla. and Jermaine Jackson, who preceded her in death. 1st Cousins too numerous to name who loved her as a sister. Numerous Nieces & Nephews and Special Friends as well as host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, 3PM - 7PM at Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11AM at Willow Head Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville, Georgia. Livestream will be available on this website.
