Obituary For Cortney O’Neal Samuel
Cortney, born February 5, 1986 was the daughter of Christy O’neal and Carl and Marie Washington Jr. A call came softly from Heaven above, summoning one so cherished and loved.
Though our hearts were not ready to say goodbye, God whispered her name, Courtney and she answered His cry on June 1, 2026.
Cortney graduated Thomas County Central H.S. in the year 2004, and the Valdosta State University 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisplinary Studies. She was employed with the Thomasville Community Resource Center serving as the Program Manager/Outreach Coordinator.
She loved working with people especially children. Her passion was Early Childhood Education. She did all things well diligently striving to find her true calling. Entrepeunuer minded she ventured into the business of Travel agent, and clothing sales.
Leaving to cherish her memory is Husband, Antonio Lamont Samuels, Sons, Jordan, Kendrick Jr. (KJ), & Kingston. Parents, Christy O’Neal, Knoxville, Tenn. Carl & Marie Washington, Thomasville, Ga., Grandparents: Patricia Washington, Bainbridge., Ga, Sanford & Murcy O’Neal, Knoxville, Tenn. Siblings: Kaleena, Bainbridge, Ga. Brandon, Atlanta, Ga. Akeem, Augusta, Ga., Carla & Carmiyah of Thomasville, Ga. Aunts: Patricia (Steve) Stephens, Cairo, Ga. Denisha O’Neal, Orlanda, Fl.& Sheila O’Neal, Knoxville, Tenn., Audry (Johnathan) Blackshear, Thomasville, Jeanne (Paul) Robinson, Cairo. Uncles: Anthony & David Washington, Bainbridge, Ga., Wayne West, Meigs, Ga. Sister-in-Laws: Liquella Bush (Clifford), Katrina Samuel, Olivia Patterson, Thomasville, Ga., Ashley Anderson, Brooks Co., Ga., Brothers-in-laws: Jimmy Patterson (Sherika) Thomasville, Ga., Jamie Jackson (Chloe) of Jacksonville, Fla. and Jermaine Jackson, who preceded her in death. 1st Cousins too numerous to name who loved her as a sister. Numerous Nieces & Nephews and Special Friends as well as host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, 3PM - 7PM at Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11AM at Willow Head Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville, Georgia. Livestream will be available on this website.

I had the pleasure of working with Cortney for like a year & in that time she taught me so much. She taught me the 21 day rule which since then I have applied to so many different situations in my life. I'm so sad to hear of her passing cause she was such a positive spirit & she will be truly missed by so many. I wish I could be there to celebrate her life but just know she is felt in Maryland cause I'm hurt by her passing. I will keep her kids, husband, parents, & siblings in my prayers

My prayers and heartfelt condolences to the family. Cortney was a very pleasant person to be around. I volunteered at the Resource Center I enjoyed working with her. Such a wonderful person to be around. She loved her job, the children and her boys. She will be missed. A humble spirit.🙏🏾❤️
