Obituary For Elnora Linder Macklin

Elnora Linder Macklin, a beacon of love, wisdom, and strength, transitioned peacefully June 24th, 2025, at 3:47 PM in Tampa, FL, ai the age of 78. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, the profouna impact of her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Born November 2, 1946, in Quitman, Georgia, Enora was the cherished voungest daughter of (the late) John L. Linder and Mary Lee Moore. Fron her earliest days, she embarked on a journey of purpose, meticuloush crafting a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering strength that would touch countless lives. Her deep faith was a cornerstone of her existence, evident in her dedicated service as a deaconess and Sunday School teacher at Fodie Church of God in Unity: einora's commitment to growth and service extended to her professional life; she began her nursing career with an LPN degree in St. Petersburg L, and later moved to Saginaw, Michigan where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Delta College. She later received Masters degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University, embodying a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and excellence.

In 1966, Enora's life was beautifully intertwined with that of Charles Eugene Macklin. Their remarkable 38 years of marriage were a testament enduring love, creating a warm and nurturing home where their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren flourished.

Elnora dedicated an inspiring 46 years to the nursing industry, retiring ir 2005 as a Director of Nursing from Aleda E. Lutz VA Hospital in Saginan Ml. Her compassionate care and tireless dedication left an indelible mark on those she served. Following her retirement, she returned to her beloved Georgia, where she continued her faithful service as a deaconess and Sunday School Leacher at Focie Church of God in Unity in Ouitman. GA She loved to bowl, shop, and spend time with her daughter in Tampa, FL, where she spent her moments on earth.

Elnora, our beloved "Baby Sistah", filled every room with warmth and love. She's now reunited with her sisters. Mae Frances Denson. Dorothy Linder, Elma Marshall and Jean Bryant and brother Robert Brown, but her spirit continues to shine through the countless lives she touched.

Known affectionately as Momma Mack or Auntie to so many, Elnora's love knew no bounds. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Charles Gene Macklin; her loving children, Serena Macklin, Charles Eugene Macklin II (Sandra), and stepson Darian "Keith”Macklin (Ann); and even her cherished fur-grandbaby, Princess Lil' Girl Macklin.

Elnora's greatest legacy is her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren continue the generational love she so freely gave She is also survived by her sister-in-law Jesse Brown, sister Ocie Montgomery and brothers Romain Linder (Dorris), Calvin Linder (Ethel), and Herbert Linder. Her extended family and dear friend, Mildred "Miss Millie Davis, will forever cherish her memory.

Elnora also leaves a rich tapestry of cherished memories for a host o nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless other relatives and friends. She effortlessly filled every room with her infectious love, joyous laughter and insightful guidance. Her unwavering support and gentle spirit, touched the hearts of all of those who were fortunate enough to be in her presence. Elnora with her her renowned “heart of gold”had a profound and boundless love for her Jamily. She cherished every moment, leaving an enduring legacy of encouragement, infinite affection, and unconditional love that will continue to inspire us all.


Home going services will be Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 12PM at Zion Temple Church with Dr. Kenneth Dupree, officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home website to view a livestream of the celebration.
