Geraldine’s Journey
The journey of Ms. Geraldine Wilson~Mobley began on Saturday, April 8, 1944 in Quitman, Georgia. Her parents were Willie Lee Jones~Williams and Thomas Wilson. She was the first of seven children. She attended Brooks County Public Schools and worked in the hospitality industry until her retirement. Geraldine was a lifelong resident of Quitman, Georgia.
Geraldine was affectionately known as, Deen. She was a joyous person with a contagious personality that was filled with laughter. She was famous for cooking delicious meals, which was laced with a tremendous amount of love for family and friends. Deen was also a loving, strong, outspoken woman. She so fondly reminisced about how close in age she was to her aunts that, they became her friends. As she began to season within her journey, she filled her time by worshipping at The House of God Church, being with her family and enjoying her faithful dog, Lady. -Galatians 5:22 “…the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith”
After enduring years of pain, Geraldine was beckoned home to receive her eternal crown on September 3, 2021 at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by the untimely death of her beloved son, Keith Mobley.
Her cherished memories will forever be in the hearts of her seven children Beverly Mobley-Chavez of Miami, Florida; Joe Mobley, Jr. of Montgomery, Alabama; Ronald Mobley of Miami, Florida; Ricky Mobley of Quitman, Georgia; Charles Frazier of Quitman, Georgia; Barbara Mobley of Valdosta, Georgia; Tony Mobley of Quitman, Georgia; Geraldine is also survived by one brother, George Williams, Jr.; eleven grandchildren: Tellis, Daniel, Tarsha, Jasmine, Keandra, Valerie, Ronald Jr., Rquan, Terell, Tiahja, and Jaylen; great grandchildren; 2 special cousins: Josephine Jackson and Francine Burns; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.” ~John 3:16
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 3PM on the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Lawn. Burial will follow in North End Cemetery.
