The Obituary
Mr. Herman Lee Jones was born July 28, 1959 in Barney, GA. Herman was born the seventh child of fourteen children to the late Mr. Willie Frank Jones and Mrs. Rosa Lee Cannady Jones.
Herman accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Herman was a member of Rocky Mount Zion A.M.E Church in Barney, GA. He received his education in Brooks County. Herman worked as a farmer for many years and also worked with moving houses. He was a handyman. After losing his eyesight, he still had ambition and determination to work on cars and lawn mowers. Herman met and married his wife Deborah Godfrey Jones.
Herman was preceded in death by his two sisters and one brother.
Herman is survived by his wife, Deborah G. Jones of Barney, GA; eight sisters, Delores (Jerry) of Mississippi, Mary Evelyn, Dorothy Jean, Ernestine (Sylvester), Mary Beth all of Barney, GA, Carolyn of Valdosta, Catherine (Jonathan) of Hahira, Janice (Darryl) of Bradenton, FL; four brothers, Willie Lewis (Martha Lou), Kenneth (Deloris) of Barney, GA, Michael Rountree of Cordele, GA, Timothy Rountree (Chinita) of Jacksonville. Herman also leaves to cherish six sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law in which two preceded him in death. Herman also leaves to cherish his three aunts, Catherine Livingston of New Jersey, Anne Ruth Singleton of Ocala, FL, and Nina Cannaday of Orlando, FL. Herman also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends who adored him. Herman had three special friends who he enjoyed talking to day in and day out, Nancy Dennard, Jackie Godfrey, and Burton Griffin.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 12PM at the Morven City Auditorium. Burial will follow in North End Cemetery.
