Jerry Donald Denson Sr. was born on September 18, 1946, in Morven, Georgia, to the late Ernest and Pollie Mae (Jackson) Denson. Jerry was a lifelong member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served on the Deacon Board and remained active until his health began to decline.
Jerry graduated from Washington Street High School Quitman, GA at the age of 16. Being too young to go into the military, he asked grandma to sign him up for the military and enlisted to serve his country in the United States Navy where he proudly served and was honorably discharged.
Brother Denson became a member of Walnut Hill Lodge #313 in Quitman on December 13, 1974, maintaining active membership until his passing. He also served with distinction in Lovejoy Chapter #246, holding the role of Associate Patron and later serving as District Associate Patron for the Valdosta District #9.
Jerry furthered his education at Valdosta State College and Darton College, later dedicating his professional life to helping others as a Substance Abuse Counselor with the Legacy Behavioral Health ACT Team.
He was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother who spent his life instilling Christian values and the importance of family into everyone he encountered. His legacy of love, service, and faith will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Carlton Denson Jr.; father, Ernest Carlton Denson Sr.; daughter, Jerri LaMarian Denson; sister, Sandra Denson; mother, Pollie Mae Denson; and sister, Yolanda Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Marian (McKinnie) Denson; seven children; Jerry Donald (Don) Denson Jr, Yurshema (Roy) Flanders, Arthur Lee (Barbie) Gray, E.
