Obituary For Jimmie Lee Graham

Jimmie Lee Graham, 77, was born on November 8, 1948, in Lee, Florida, to the late Joe Esaw Graham and Clemmie Mae Williams. He passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026.

Jimmie was raised in Madison, Florida, where he attended the public schools of Madison County. From an early age, he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. In the 1960s, he worked in the pulpwood industry, spending long days cutting timber, operating chainsaws, and lifting and stacking heavy logs. Though the work was demanding, Jimmie took great pride in every load he helped complete and in the honest living it provided for his family.

Those early years in the woods helped shape his character—steady, hardworking, and unafraid of difficult tasks. He later became employed with GoldKist Inc., where he remained until his retirement, after which he enjoyed a well-earned season of rest.

Outside of work, Jimmie had a fond love for reading comic books, a pastime that brought him joy throughout his life. He will be remembered by family and friends as a dependable and generous man—whether lending a helping hand or offering financial support when needed. His loved ones will cherish the stories he shared from his pulpwood days, as well as the quiet wisdom he gained from a lifetime of hard work.

Jimmie’s love and legacy will be cherished by his sons, Gregory Lashawn Graham of Madison, Florida, and Sherrod Graham of Mississippi; his stepson, Isaac House (Shirley Ann) of Tallahassee, Florida; his sisters, Susan Marie Wesley, Betty Ann Graham, and Mary Ruth Graham, all of Madison, Florida; his brothers, Charlie Edward Graham (Ceola), Joe Graham (Marilyn), and Rueben Lee Graham (Lucresa), all of Madison, Florida; and his sister-in-law, Josie Mae Graham.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret L. Graham, Eunice Graham, and Lillian Graham; and his brothers, Joseph Graham, Ulysses Mays, John Mays, and Carl Graham.

Jimmie had an uncanny love for his grandchildren: Shontoria, Shantae, Londyn, Devontae, Javeona, and Alexis; along with a host of great-grandchildren, with Stadius Brown and Kwame White Jr. holding a special place in his heart.

His legacy lives on in the values he instilled—resilience, humility, and the belief that a good day’s work is something to be proud of.

Funeral services are Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Madison, Florida with Rev. Alonza Fudge officiating. Burial followed at Oak Ridge Cemetery #2 in Madison, Florida.
