John L. Sutton Jr., "Lug" to most, was born July 12, 1946 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Mr. John L. Sutton Sr. and Rosa Washington Sutton. On October 30, the Lord saw he was tired and called him home. He was the last of (8) children, (6) preceded him in death.

He was educated in the Brooks County School System at Washington Street High. He received Christ at an early age and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, where he attended until his health failed. He was a farmer by trade, and if you wanted a conversation for hours, just mention the word tractor and the farming began. He leaves to cherish 51 years of memories to his wife Ethel Sutton, Quitman, GA; (4) sons, Mr. Darrell Sutton, Quitman, GA, Kenneth B. Sutton (preceded him in death), Mr. Timothy D. Sutton Sr., Hammond, LA and Mr. Ricky Denson, Valdosta, GA; (3) grandchildren, Timothy D. Sutton Jr., Alexander L. Sutton and Ta'Maia L. Sutton of Hammond, LA; brother, Mr. Arthur Gene Sutton, Valdosta, GA; brother-in-law, Mr. Eugene Williams Sr., Miami, FL and Mrs. Lillie R. Sutton, Atlanta, GA as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Private services were Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery, Quitman, Georgia with Dr. John Manning officiating.
