Mr. Lawrence Charles Holsendolph, lovingly known as Charles, was born on September 3, 1949, in Starke, Florida, to the late Willie and Elnora G. Holsendolph. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior early in life and became a faithful member of Calvary Christian Center, later transferring his membership to Bethel A.M.E. Church, where he continued to worship and serve with devotion.

A proud graduate of Washington Street High School, Class of 1969, Mr. Charles carried his strong work ethic and commitment into every part of his life. Shortly after graduating, he met the love of his life, Mrs. Johnnie Ruth Little. The two were united in marriage on February 17, 1973, and shared 50 beautiful years together. Their union was blessed with four children, whom they nurtured, protected, and loved deeply.

Mr. Charles dedicated 47 years of service to Norfolk Southern Railroad Company, retiring in September 2009. He was known for his reliability, his quiet strength, and his unwavering dedication to his work and family. Outside of his career, he enjoyed fishing and had a gift for connecting with people—he truly never met a stranger.

He was the eldest of nine children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Willie and Mrs. Elnora Holsendolph; his brothers, Joseph Earl Holsendolph, Willie Calvin Holsendolph, Sr., and Kenneth Ray Holsendolph,Sr.; his beloved wife of 50 years, Mrs. Johnnie Ruth Holsendolph; two children, Kimberly Michelle Holsendolph and Lawrence Charles “Bam” Holsendolph, Jr.; his father-in-law, John Wesley Little, Jr.; and his mother-in-law, Alneda Brooks Little.

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, Mr. Lawrence Charles Holsendolph peacefully departed this earthly life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted Children: Ranada Holsendolph and Morgan (Quinton) Pope; his granddaughter whom he lovingly raised as a daughter, Jasmine Holsendolph; twelve grandchildren: Daryl, Lawrence, III, Rudy, Ja’vion, George, Jr., Quinton, Jr., Naseem, TaMya, Na’tavion, I’zaiyah, Aaliyah, and Roddricka; and four great-grandchildren: Jace, Darrell, Jr., Elias and Leilani. He also leaves behind his siblings: Anthony (Velencia) Holsendolph; Gwendolyn (Charles) Wooten; Lenoris (Albert) Griffin; Angela (Terrence) Jones; and Monica Holsendolph. His life touched many others, including his special daughters: Leslie Davis, Ebony Little, Yolanda Hunter, and Lisa McClendon. He is also remembered by his in-laws: Sara Lee, Lizzie, Eddie (Jeannie), William, and Patricia, along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Charles lived a life marked by kindness, loyalty, and quiet wisdom. His presence was a blessing, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held on August 22, 2026 at 4:00 P.M. at Bethel A.M.E Church.
