The late Mr. Louis Arnold, Sr., was called home on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Lakeland, Georgia. He was born February 13, 1948, to the late Martha Arnold and Charlie Arnold, Sr.
Mr. Louis Arnold, Sr., was a native of Brooks County, Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the Vietnam War in 1968-1969.
He was employed for 19 years at Ithica in Quitman, Georgia, then started his own lawn care service. He later began working at ADM for 17 years, where he ended his career.
Mr. Louis Arnold, Sr., was preceded in death by his sisters: Martha McArthur, Mary Lee Arnold, and Eva Alexander; his brothers: Ernest Arnold, Sr., George Arnold, Sr., and Charlie Arnold, Jr.; his sister-in-law, Rebecca Arnold and his grandson, Gregory Arnold, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his beloved children: Ricky Arnold, Sr. (Devris) of Quitman, GA, Keith Arnold, Sr. (Stephanie), Gregory Arnold, Sr. both of Valdosta, GA, Vashon Arnold, Sr. and Tawanda Arnold both of Quitman, GA, Precious Arnold of Valdosta, GA, Devron Turner of Atlanta, GA, Louis Arnold, Jr. (Kathleen), Derrick Guinyard, April Arnold, and Tamara Arnold all of Titusville, FL and Ebony Golden of Quitman, GA; four sisters: Katie Yearby and Virginia Gray (Jimmy) both of Valdosta, GA,Minnie Hollman and Mary Ann Brown (Dessie), both of Quitman, GA; his two brothers: Willie Arnold, Sr. and Leroy Arnold (Gertrude) both of Monticello, FL; 40 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a host of special friends and loved ones including Ferecia Davis, Deidra Parker, great nephew Demonta Brown, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other friends.
Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 6PM-7PM.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11AM at Shumate Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page to view a livestream of the celebration.
