I will forever remember Aunt Margaret's warm smile and gentle voice. After my mom married my stepdad - even though he is much more than that to me and will always be DAD - (her brother James), as a child I would spend some Summers in Valdosta with my dad's family. On first meeting, Aunt Margaret welcomed me into the family as if I were a blood nephew, not one via marriage. She was so caring, warm, funny, gentle, sweet, encouraging, and supportive. And, this meant a lot to me - coming from a situation where I had little to no contact with my relatives on my genetic father's side. Over the years, Aunt Margaret and I didn't spend as much time together (or communicate as much) as we did during my youth - due to life kind of getting in the way I guess one can say. But, when I moved from the East Coast to the West Coast to pursue my purpose (or some would say my dream), Aunt Margaret once again was very encouraging, caring, and supportive. And, again this meant a lot to me. My heart is heavy with her passing. But, I have peace knowing that Jesus waits at Heaven's gates with His arms opened wide to welcome her home. She will be missed but never ever forgotten. Gary Jenkins, nephew (Los Angeles, CA)
