Obituary For Mary Newsome Miles
Ms. Mary N. Miles was born on February 6, 1961 in Thomasville, GA to Nora L. Hill and James "Sonny" Newsome. She got her education in the Brooks County School system. After graduating high school she attended Albany State University where she pursued a degree in nursing and later became a nurse at the Brooks County Hospital for many years before taking a different career path.
Ms. Miles was a faithful and devoted member of Sweetfield Missionary Baptist Church. She was bold in everything she did and said. Her prayer was that each and every one of her family members gain their own personal relationship with the Lord.
She leaves to mourn her passing, three sons, Joshua Roy, Sr. (Tamika) Tallahassee, FL, Justin Roy, Atlanta, GA, Japree Miles, Savannah, GA; two sisters, Apostle Rosetta Samuel, Conoley, GA, Janie Hill, Miami, FL; four brothers, Dea. Clyde Hill, Dennis Hill Sr., William Hill all of Quitman, GA, Alfred Hill (Geneva), Valdosta, GA; seven grandchildren, Ava, Joshua Jr., Jeremiah, Journie, Shamya, Jamauri, and Jacoby; 29 nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 4PM-7PM.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11AM at Bethel AME Church with Apostle Rosetta Samuel, officiating. Burial will follow in Sweetfield MB Church cemetery. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page to view a livestream of the celebration on Saturday.
