Mattie Lavern Hadley was born on August 7, 1953, to the late Orad Jackson and James Miley, Sr., in Hahira, Georgia. She peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family.
Lavern was educated in the Brooks County School system. She later became a dedicated employee at the Brooks County Presbyterian Home, where she worked as a lead Dietary Cook until her retirement. Lavern was the heart of her family. She loved her children and family deeply and always made sure they felt her love. Lavern’s first child, Darren Anderson, Sr., was a true blessing in her life and held a special place in her heart. Later in life, she was united in marriage to Rockie Hadley, Sr., and to this union two more blessings were born, Chandra Hadley and Rockie Hadley, Jr. Although their paths later separated, Lavern continued her journey in life and later met the love of her life, her devoted companion for more than 30 years, Mr. George W. Davis, Sr. (Junebug). Through that lasting bond, Lavern’s final blessing was born, George W. Davis III.
Lavern was preceded in death by her parents, Orad Jackson and James Miley, Sr., her beloved son Darren Anderson, Sr., one brother L.C. Jackson and devoted companion, Mr. George Davis, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her three children: Chandra Hadley, Rockie Hadley, Jr., George Davis III (Latorial Davis), daughter-in-law, Maggie Anderson; eleven grandchildren: Chardonnay Griffin, Darren Anderson (Nictoria Anderson), Tamia Hadley, Trinity Hadley, Triston Bean, Toni Bean, Noah Hadley, Layla Davis, Madyson Hadley, Trevion Ward, and Jeremiah Page; her three great-grandchildren: Jamiya Griffin, Jacayden Griffin and KaLeia Hadley; her three brothers: Roscoe Miley, James Miley (Betty Miley) and Joenathan Miley (Valerie Miley); her two aunts: Martha Jones and Violet Winn; her one uncle, Mathis Jackson (Betty Ann Jackson); her five special friends: Josephine Moore, Renee Byrdsong, Wilma Mccoggle, Regina Branch and Joann Jordan along with a host of loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
