Obituary For Minnie B. Wolfe

Then I was Born...
Minnie Bell Wolfe was born on January 7, 1947, in Quitman Georgia to the late Leroy Sr and Lizzie Lamons of Barwick GA.

A Time to Grow…
Minnie Bell attended the Brooks County school system in Quitman GA. She attended school with many of her sisters and brothers, she was very active and a tall stout black beauty in school. She was a friendly person and was liked by many.

A time to create my Legacy…
Minnie Bell started dating and began to build a family. She was the beloved mother of four great men, she was also the mother to many of whom she took in and raised as her own. Everyone who encountered her once was a child.

A time to Serve…
Minnie Bell was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Barwick, GA as a child. That was her home church, family church where she grew up with her mother and father and all her family are members of. She was a faithful member of her church until her timely demise.

A Time to Work…
Minnie Bell worked various jobs. She worked in the fields all her life providing produce and veggies to anyone who may need them. She also worked at Ithaca in Brooks County which was a sewing company. She also worked at the Rose City Presbyterian Nursing Home in Thomasville Ga as a CNA for some years.

A Time to Bloom…
In her spare time when she wasn’t working, Minnie spent much of her time fishing, she was a pro at fishing. Fishing was a daily thing for her, if she wasn’t fishing, she must’ve been sick lol and half the time if she was sick she would still be fishing… She was always eager to teach people how to fish and take them to some of the best fishing spots. Minnie was such a pro at fishing, she would have 4 reels casted, and 3 poles at the same time and would be able to handle them all if a fish was to hit the line, all I can say is don’t be behind her lol because you were bound to get
hooked. She loved fishing so much, she would go fishing for other people and not even herself. All her kids and grandkids can mean hook just like her on the creek. She also loved to sew. She would make various quilts, blankets and pillows for her kids and grandkids.

Minnie Bell was known for cooking as well. She cooked every day of the week, and everyone knew where to go to feed their hunger. She was known for her famous “collard greens, chitlins, pork chop, gravy and rice and cornbread. Minnie didn’t mind feeding anyone. It was her way of letting people know she loved and cared for them.

A Time to transition….
Minnie Bell begins to speed up life and became busier than ever, making plans and setting dates and making her rounds to see everyone she wanted. No one understood her and we would tell her to slow down and sit down somewhere, but she knew she had a mission to complete before her father called her home. Minnie delivered her Christmas gifts, saw her grandkids, went fishing and talked to her sons one last time before she said, “Ok God Welcome me home”. On Friday, December 20th, 2024, God heard Minnie Bells cry and looked down from the Heavens above and
told the angels, go my children and bring my daughter home. Minnie Bell greeted the angels as they approached and said my work down here is finished and I’m ready to go home. The angels took Minnie Bells hand and began to ascend into heaven, Minnie looked down from the skies above and said “Goodbye World I’m Goin Home… God greeted Minnie Bell as she walked through the pearly gates, Welcome home my child, welcome home, welcome home….

Legacy of Memories….
Minnie Bell is survived by her four sons: Wesley Freddie Lamons, Pastor Richard Wolfe (Debrah), Johnnie Wolfe (Vickie), Tracey Wolfe (Teresa), and Gorman Steven Jenkins; three Godsons Demetrius Crawford (Monia), Deno Crawford, and Anthony Akery (Tonja); siblings: Eddie Frank Lamons, Leroy Lamons Jr, Mamie Wolfe (J.B.), Glorian Herring, Patricia Miller, Angela Lamons, Tangela Lamons-Glen (William); special girlfriends: Catherine “ Cat” Davis and Catherine Crawford; granddaughter/medical advisor and supporter: Keaunta Wolfe; special
helper; Kenneth Coston, Jr.; special fishing partner/cousin: Betty Jean Wolfe; 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones and friends.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Vernell Lamons, Lizzie Mae Lamons, Willie-Frank Lamons, Katherine Lang and Betty J. Daniels.

Visitation will be Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 1PM-7PM.

Ms. Minnie’s home going celebration will be Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11AM at First AB Church in Barwick, GA with Rev. Corey King, officiating and Rev. Charlie Dunbar, presiding.
