A TIME TO BE BORN:
MOTHER PAULINE THOMPSON BROWN was born on June 6, 1936, to the late Nathaniel Thompson and the late Arvie Newsome. She departed this life on October 29, 2025, from the warming embrace of her home among family and friends.

A TIME TO DIE:
After a brief illness, Mother Pauline passed away in her sleep among her loved ones, family, and friends.

A TIME TO BE EDUCATED:
Mother Pauline graduated from Brooks County Training School, May 25, 1955.

A TIME TO WORK:
Mother Pauline was employed at Waterford Park for more than ten years. She later worked for East Liverpool City Hospital.

A TIME TO WORSHIP:
At an early age Mother Pauline gave her life to the lord. She was a member of Holiness Church of Christ
Deliverance Center and later Mt. Calvary Chapel, Midland, Pennsylvania until she moved back to Georgia and began her membership with Monument Missionary Baptist Church, Quitman, Georgia. Her work and dedication to God and the church were unparalleled.

A TIME TO REMEMBER:

Mother Pauline was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-five years, Nathaniel “Bill” Brown of Dixie, Georgia; step-daughter, Phyllis V. Washington (Jerry), of North Augusta, South Carolina. She was the last matriarch of her generation preceded in death by: her parents, Deacon Nathaniel Thompson (d. 2000); mother, Arvie Newsome Thompson (d. 1973); siblings, Plez Thompson (d. 1991), Sylvester Thompson (d. 2014), Evans Thompson (d. 2022), Lerleen Sirmans (d. 2016), and Mattie Lou Hart (d. 2011) and a very special grandson, Kindall D. Brown, Jr. (d. 2024).

A TIME TO MOURN:

Mother Pauline leaves a legacy of descendants that will cherish her memories: four sons; Paul Brown, Dixie, Georgia; Curtis Brown (Dustin) Sandusky, Ohio; Kindall Brown (Nanette) Thomasville, Georgia; Michael Brown, East Liverpool, Ohio; step-daughter, Cassandra Wooten, Riviera Beach, Florida; and three step-sons, Nathaniel Greene (Arleen) Columbus, Georgia; Frederick Greene, Valdosta, Georgia; and Victor Greene (Mimi), Atlanta, Georgia; 36 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Many many special nieces and nephews, and many sorrowing friends; one special devoted friend/sister, Willie Seay, “Hold it in the Road.”

Home going services will be Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 3PM at Simmon Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in North End Cemetery. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home website to view a livestream of the celebration.
