Obituary For Mrs. J. Ruth Brooks

Mrs. J. Ruth Little Brooks, was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Sarah Little on April 3, 1929. She then married the late Eugene Brooks, and from this union came three children. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.

She was preceded in death by both parents; all of her siblings, Ada Reddick, Mary Lee Speights, Ethel Little, Joseph Little, Benjamin Peter Little, William Samuel Little, and John Wesley Little, Jr.; and her loving daughters, Erma Jean Demps and Minister Floria Mae Brooks. She departed this life on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Sunrise Nursing Home in Moultrie, Georgia.

At an early age, Ruth accepted Christ in her life. She first joined Sunberry AME church where she enjoyed worship before moving her membership to Friendship AME Church. Ruth leaves to cherish her memories: her dedicated son, Charles Brooks, Sr., (Joyce); six loving grandchildren, Gerald Demps, Sr., (Sharon), Felix Gosier, Sr., Felicia Crawford (Don), Tamiko Mobley (Wilbert Jr.), Charles Brooks, Jr.,(Shanema), Michael Gosier, Jr. (Trina); twenty-two great-grandchildren; seven greatgreat-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and friends with whom she shared much of her joyous laughter and loving memories.

Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones, and she considered them all to be dear to her heart. She loved and supported her family throughout the years by opening her heart and doors to those in need. She could always be found sitting on the front porch enjoying her day. Ruth was the family historian as she would always share stories about the past with everyone. She loved her family dearly and will be missed tremendously by all.

Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 12PM-7PM.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11AM at Friendship AME Church with Rev. Delvin Boatman, eulogist. Burial will follow in Scott Serenity Gardens in Dixie, GA.
