Obituary For Ms. Carolyn Grant

Carolyn Grant, beloved mother, teacher at heart, and dedicated nursing professional, passed away on September 24, 2025 in Tifton, Georgia.

She was born on October 22, 1950 to the late Berry Grant, Sr. and Sarah Lee Dasher-Grant. She devoted much of her life to serving others through the field of nursing, where her compassion, skill, and gentle spirit made a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. Carolyn also had a deep love for teaching—whether in a classroom, in her profession, or in everyday life, she enjoyed sharing knowledge, encouraging others, and helping people grow. In addition, her interest in sociology reflected her natural gift for understanding people and building meaningful connections.

She is survived by her children: Eric Grant and his wife Sandra Grant, Angie Grant and her companion Jay Gilbert IV, Reginald Grant, Sr. and his wife Stephanie Grant. She is also survived by her Grandchildren: Erica Grant, Cassandra Grant, Nicholas Grant, Demetrius Smith, Deontrey Grant, Sisera Seide, Xionna Grant, and Reginald Grant, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, 10 great-grandchildren as well. She also leaves a Brother Berry Grant, Jr. and Sisters: Apostle Julia Berry, Louise Smith, Dianne Reed and Mary Frances Spells, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and close family. Their love and care remained central to her life, and she cherished every moment they shared.

Carolyn will be dearly missed by family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew her. Her kindness, wisdom, and strength will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 12PM-7PM.

Home going services will be Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Quitman, GA with Apostle Julia Berry, officiating. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page to view a livestream of the celebration.
