The Obituary
Nathaniel Brown, affectionately known to many as “Nate” or “Booboo”, was born to the late Arthur Brown Sr. and Ethel Bell Brown on February 14th, 1949 in Quitman, GA. He was lovingly reared by Ida and John Parker.
Nathaniel graduated from Washington Street High School class of 1967. At an early age he attended Red Hill A.M.E. Church. In August of 1967, he journeyed into the US Marine Corps, where he served his country during the Vietnam War. After receiving an honorable discharge from the military, he moved to New Jersey where he began his truck driving career until retiring.
In December, 1967 Nathaniel entered holy matrimony with Jeanette Brown, and to this marriage a beautiful child was born. He later met and married Bertha Kelly Brown and together they reared eight children.
He is preceded in death by one child Joann Brown, both parents, and five siblings.
He leaves to cherish his dear memories, his loving mom, Bernadine Brown; 8 loving children, Consuela Brown Betts, Tamika Brown, Jarvis Tucker, Robert Bright, Terry Copeland, Timothy Brown, Ernest Brown, and April Kelly; 5 sisters, Lula Mae Williams (Raymond), Lillie Lockett, Alberta Brown, Beverly Hall, and Shonda Brown; 6 brothers, James F. Brown (Marie), Kenneth Stevens (Evelyn), Edward Brown (Bobbie Jean), Ernest Brown (Judy), John Brown, and Dexter Brown; one loving brother-in-law Wayne Reed, grandchildren, Caleb and Cohen Betts, Poursha Charles, Raheem Fielding, Rajahn Massenburg, Atif Sapp, Brandon Bright, Latoya Bright, Kalongi Brown, Rabu Brown, Wadeah Brown, Shanta Brown, Shanti Brown, Wa-De Brown, Terry Copeland Jr, Niiyla Charles, and Zariya Copeland; and a host of loving, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life will be Friday, August 20, 2021 at 10AM on the lawn of Bethel AME Church with Rev. Dr. Raymond Williams, eulogist. Military burial rights will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Continue to keep the family in your daily thoughts and prayers.
