Mr. Reginald Vincent Townsend, known by all as Reggie, was born on May 3, 1965, to Helen lownsend Gay and James Bradwell, Jr.
Reggie lived a life filled with purpose, laughter and a larger than life personality that made an impression wherever he went.
Reggie passed away on December 4, 2025 after an extended illness.
A retired truck driver, Reggie spent many years on the open road—working hard, providing for his family, and collecting stories along the way. Known for his big smile, bold humor, and even bigger heart, he was the type of person who could turn strangers into. friends and bring joy into any room he entered.
Reggie's greatest pride was his family. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted mother, Helen Townsend Gay, his loving daughter, Cherelle Townsend, and his sons: Shaquille Oliver, Tyler Berrian (Ashleigh), and Riley Townsend. He also embraced his step-children- Dante Harris (Kim); Danielle Anderson (Steve, and Daniah Bradley with love and care. His legacy continues through his five grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings: Cheryl Brown (Corey), Iresa Wright, Brian Gay (Charity), Darrell Nichols, Sr., Martin Nichols, and Judon Nichols. Reginald shared a deep and meaningful bona with his friend and life partner, Doris J. Townsend, who stood faithfully by his side.
Reggie was preceded in death by his wife Crystal Bradley Townsend, his great-grandmother Mary Head and grandmother Gladys Cannady.
He is lovingly remembered by his father-in-law, Rev. Oliver Bradley, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Reggie will be remembered for his humor, his warmth, his loyalty; and the unmistakable presence that made him unforgettable.
Though he has taken his final rest, the stories, laughter, and love he shared will live on in all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 3PM at Beulah MB Church with Rev. Corey L. Brown, officiating.
