The Obituary

Ms. Ruby Jean Hunter was born on October 17, 1960 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Ida Ruth Hunter and Adolph Hunter, Sr.

Ruby gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined Pineview Freewill Baptist Church. About eight years ago, she moved her membership to Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member. She graduated from Brooks County High School, class of 1978. She was a Personal Care Aide at Fellowship Home Senior Living, for 20 years.

Ruby departed this life on May 18, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Adolph Hunter, Jr.

She leaves to mourn, five children dear to her heart, Timothy Hunter, Tiffany Hunter of Quitman, Georgia, Tyeisha McGhee-Williams (Tyrone) of Valdosta, Georgia, Tiondra McGhee of Quitman, Georgia and TaQuanda Manning (Marquez) of Valdosta, Georgia; eight grandchildren: Ta'Drianna Dennard, Jamiya Herring, TyVon Gray, Comarion McGhee, Jamariae McGhee, Tamari McGhee, MarQuaza Manning, and Kayden Washington; one sister, Ethel Mobley and one brother, Pete Hunter of Quitman, Georgia; one special, devoted uncle, Ben Hunter of Quitman, Georgia; two very special people who were like sons, Xavier McGhee and Tony Dennard; a special person who was like a daughter, Stephanie Thomas; three special friends: Barbara Bivins, Arridean Jackson, and Lawanda King of Quitman, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends, who loved her dearly.
