Rufus Spencer was born on May 21, 1956 to the late Homer and Daisy Spencer. Rufus departed his life on August 15, 2026.
Rufus attended the Brooks County Service Center for many years and was passionate about attending daily.
Rufus was never married and had no children. He was a loving uncle and friend to all those that knew him.
He was a devoted member of Shumate Church of Christ where he was shown much love by his church family and his pastor.
Rufus leaves to cherish his memories to his siblings, Frank Spencer (Constance) of Thomasville, Georgia, Cleveland Spencer (Buffie) of Thomasville, Georgia, and Rayfield Spencer of Quitman, Georgia. His caretakers and brother, Kenneth Spencer (Alacia) of Quitman, Georgia, his nephew, Kenneth Spencer, Jr., of Quitman, Georgia, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Rufus was preceded in death by two of his siblings, Carolyn Spencer Gordon and Homer Spencer, Jr, and his nephew, Kendrick Spencer.
He also leaves behind a devoted nephew, Terrian Arnold of Quitman, Georgia, and niece, Latishna Brown.
Funeral services were Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. at Shumate Street Church of Christ in Quitman, Georgia. Burial followed at the North End Cemetery in Quitman.
